The Psychoanalytic Council is a highly regarded professional association and voluntary regulator of the psychoanalytic psychotherapy profession. We promote excellence in psychoanalytic thinking and psychotherapy; safeguard the public; promote the highest standards of training and research; and work to make psychoanalytic psychotherapy accessible to all.
We are growing as an organisation and are looking to appoint to a newly created post of Policy and Public Affairs Officer. The organisation is at an exciting stage of development and the post holder will play a key role in helping build our profile and influence.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the development of policy and the public profile of the BPC and the profession in the political, media and healthcare fields, as well as more widely with the general public.
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual, with some previous policy and public affairs experience, who will enjoy the challenge of helping develop our policy and public affairs work in a small, professional and friendly team. We have secured funding for the post for a three year period but would hope to secure more permanent funding thereafter.
