Wessex Training

The BPF Wessex Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy with Adults is intended for applicants based in, or able to travel to, the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire areas. The Wessex Training administrative centre is in Oxford, but seminars and clinical work usually take place in Oxford, Reading and other locations in these counties. The Wessex Training strives to combine the highest clinical standards with academic rigour, while sharing facilities and a lively professional life with BPF Members in London.

Doctorate of Psychotherapy in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy Foundation

Taught jointly by BPF and the Department of Psychosocial Studies at Birkbeck College, University of London. Qualification leads to membership of the BPF, registration with the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP), and eligibility for work in the NHS.

Professional Doctorate in Couple Psychotherapy

Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

This 4-year programme is a clinical training in couple psychoanalytic psychotherapy combined with an academic training to MA level (UEL). It leads to professional accreditation with the BPC and full membership of the BSCPC (The Society of Couple Psychotherapists and Counsellors).

Psychological Therapy with Children, Young People and Families

The M34 is intended for people working in both voluntary and statutory sector settings with children and families. Upon successful completion of this course you will be awarded an MA, accredited by the University of East London, and accreditration with the BPC.

An exciting opportunity at the Tavistock Clinic for staff, colleagues and students.

In the Couples Unit in the Adult Department, we have started a two-year training course for clinicians interested in developing their practice to working with couples. The course has been accredited by the BPC as a qualifying course in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with Couples. We are now accepting applications for the second intake starting end of September.
